As a traditionalist by heart I always love the original but someone else's interpretation of the original is also nice. So, how about we post an original song and then a cover?

I'll start with one of my favourite Lynyrd Skynyrd song's, Simple Man.

And now a cover that I really like.

While we're at it, how about a Young/Springsteen grunge version?

I had never heard that Malmsteen cover before. That's crazy.

Almost forgot about this, going back to All Along the Watchtower, the late Shawn Lane "too many notes" version
Fkjp4r8wINA

I love shred. I admire Shawn Lane. But for my money, that's not All Along the Watchtower any more. It's just a vehicle for a bunch of notes. I've heard him do far more interesting things with Jimi covers.

Compare and contrast these versions of "Ironman." I've never been a fan of Black Sabbath, but the Cardigan's version I love.
