I ran the K-100 again this weekend, and here are some photos.

This is in the Canadian Rockies, a 100 mile relay that is tough and fun. Hard to beat the scenery!

Kananaskis IMHO is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. If someone asked me to show them the best that Canada has to offer, I might start there.

I golfed Kananaskis for 2 days and was blown away. It humbled me. Truly epic. It reminds me of Whistler before the development boom, but on a much bigger scale. Photos of Kananaskis are amazing but they never quite do it justice. You have to see it with your own eyes.

Speaking of photos... how did you manage to these self-portraits? Mirrors?

Some really great shots there Robert. I love the few where it looks like the guys are levitating. I also like the fog on the green shot and the second runner hand off. Nice emotion in that one. There are some pretty big hills on that course.

Thanks guys.

Good hills, yep you bet! I got the best one! 450 meters of elevation gain. Top of the leg is at 2,200 meters altitude.

START: 0.5 km south of Mist Creek at the Pickle Jar Recreation Area

DISTANCE: 17.6 km

DIFFICULTY RATING: 10

FASTEST RECORDED TIME IN 2006: 1:04.07

PACE: 5:52 per mile

DESCRIPTION: This is the toughest leg of the relay. It's hilly with a number of segments at a 7% grade. The runner will gain 450m over the length of this route; 250m are packed into 6.8 km. The runner will be truly tested on Canada's highest engineered road. The road peaks at Highwood pass, 2206m above sea level. The surface is new asphalt. Watch for wildlife.
