So I get a new catalog from Musician's Friend and it has a 15% OFF a single item $49 or more. The joke is that they exclude their entire inventory. This is a list of every manufacturer that is excluded. Can you think of any that aren't? Why do they even bother?

One more good reason to deal with another seller that doesn't play such games.

Yep, at least places like Prymax Vintage (http://www.prymaxevintage.com/) and Pro Guitar Shop (http://proguitarshop.com/) will email you sale codes that work on everything they offer.

I don't know why they bother under those kinds of restrictions, but they often have legit deep discounts and if you keep your eyes open - or just get lucky - you can get some good deals with them. I just happened to look for a gig bag for my LP and they just happened to be offering a nice hardshell case for $41 marked down from $99, and in fact when I went back to look at it, it was back up to $99. Then there were those nice padded leather straps they sold out recently for $2.99...

Now you're just rubbing salt into the wound. I was in the wilderness a long way away from a computer. Rats!

Ah, that sounds a hell of a lot better than a great strap deal anyway.

Got any pics or stories to share?

I really tried to think of just one not on the list, so I could bust your chops. You win...can't think of any.
Wait...wait...went back...HAMER! I win after all, of course they probably don't sell Hamer. Oh wait, Fender owns Hamer now....not sure if that counts or not. Seriously...that is one serious list.
