Has anybody ever tried any of the TrueFire interactive video lessons (http://truefire.com/list.html?store=video_lessons)? I had basically dismissed them previously because I thought you would need a Windows box to use it. As it turns out, all of the videos are in Flash format which will work just fine for me in Linux. I'm looking for some blues instructional goodness.

Yes! I have been visiting that sight for about three months. I got the "Blues Grooves" lesson. It is a little above my understanding at the prest moment. The lessons are a little pricy.

I tried some TrueFire when I was just looking into the guitar.. very informative site..most of the stuff seemed way above my beginner understanding.. I was fortunate to see a few Interactive Riff CD's which I think is part of Truefire (correct me if I am wrong) .. http://www.riffinteractive.com/catalog/catalog.htm and they run through HTML so should work one way or the other on anything.. although their site says Windows.. and the videos are wmv I am sure they have a mac plugin for that format someplace... pretty cheap..10 bucks a pop and pretty good instructions..

I have scoured Truefire, but so far only downloaded lessons, and then only free ones. I posted this when I first found them:

Here is another lesson site I just found:

http://truefire.com/index2.html

You hafta join (simple), then enter FREE in the search. Power Tab is a free download and some of the lessons include MP3 audio and PT files to go with. Others have audio with tabs in PDF format. I didn't find any specific songs like on Dolphin St, but more instructional types - riffs, chords, scales, turn arounds, theory and such. There is a lot to sift thru, but I did find some stuff that will be helpful at my level.

The freebies are short and not too comprehensive but I found a few good ones for a newbie like me.

Guitar Player TV also has some free lessons that are excerpts from Truefire courses like the Blues Grooves mentioned.

http://www.guitarplayertv.com/

GPTV also advertises a 25% Truefire discount link on occasion.

I may just have to bite the bullet and actually spend some money on learning how to play this thing!

Brad Carlton is a monster player.. I was perusing through the site and really found a couple of things I would like...

Rythmic Grooves is one of them.. but check the incredible grain on the Strat that Brad is playing on the demo lessons.... the following link takes you there. and the video segment is Bonus Lesson 6B Nice!!!
