George Lynch, Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown (aka Dokken sans Don) have gotten together to put out an album with a little help from some friends. It's partially new material and partially reworked Dokken tunes. I've got it pre-ordered. They wanted to call the band "Tooth and Nail" but apparently there's a little record company out there with that name, so it's T&N. http://www.ratpakrecordsamerica.com/TandN

Here's the title track, "Slave to the Empire": http://soundcloud.com/rat-pak-records/slave-to-the-empire

"Tooth and Nail" with Doug Pinnick from King's X on vox: http://soundcloud.com/rat-pak-records/t-n-tooth-and-nail

"Access Denied" another new track: http://soundcloud.com/rat-pak-records/t-n-access-denied

Other guest vocalists are Robert Mason, Sebastian Bach, and Ripper Owens. Interesting that Don said that they couldn't get the schedules together for a full-blown reunion, but the other three could. Don is dropping Dokken (he needed at least one of the other original members to use the name) and working on something with Michael Schencker.

They mentioned this while on That Metal Show a while a go. I was wondering when we'd see the release. I'll definitely check it out. I just watched Jeff with Foreigner on Palladia and the boy can still play and put on a show.

Awww, MAN! That's just gonna be killer.

I'll bet Pinnick's take is gonna be a good one, he's still got a ton of power and soul to his voice.

If you click on the link in my original post, you can hear the full track for yourself! That's the only track he sings on.

Wow! Lynch is rippin', and Pinnick has never sounded better. Thanks for the reminder of the links... I was so tired from work, and working around the house that I missed it.

If you look around on the TV you might be able to see a rerun of the That Metal Show episode when they were all on. There will never be a "Dokken" reunion." Lots of animosity there. I'm so glad these guys got together again and made music.

I've listened to it several times. It is a really good album. The remakes are faithful without being slavish. The new ones are strong in general. Highlights are "Slave to the Empire," "Rhythm of the Soul," and "Access Denied." The only song that I don't particularly care for is "Sweet Unknown," but it's not like it's terrible. Highly recommended for those who like their rawk.
