Using an Anthem guitar, and Marshall JVM and a Crybaby. No gain pedals.

Cool! Nice to see you get back to your shredder roots. The bridge reminded me of a less bright JB. Both sounded like they were practically begging to play Van Halen. What's with the new site?

Just found this again! I'm almost a shredder!

I'm digging the tone I got there... the Marshall JVM works well for this style. :)

Would you say that those are a high output pickup or not? What is the body wood of the Anthem?
It seems like the neck pickup stay fairly crisp with all the added gain.

Dimarzio's site has them under "High Power," but it is the lowest output pickup in that category. It has less output than the Norton, for example. That's using their own output rating in mV.

I have a mahogany body/sapele top Ibanez RG that I'm wondering if those might be just the right pickup for.

I'd say they are medium output, maybe "wimpy high gain"? :)

They are very musical, and if you play hard rock style music, these are perfect. Not over the top hot, just sweet and fat sounding when you have some distortion on your amp.

I don't know the material of the guitar.
