To my ears those sound very similar to the lipstick pickups in the Squire Surf Stratocaster.

Thank you. It sounds very nice through my Marshall JVM too. :)

I like using the HD500 at night, since I can do all the recording quietly, with headphones. I can only record with an amp when nobody's home.

The HD500 does get some really good direct sounds. I thought you were using your Marshall.
