Whether or not you recognize Arturo Vega's name, chances are you're familiar with his artwork, at least this piece...

Vega was an artist, longtime artistic director for the Ramones, and a major part of the early NYC punk scene. Anyone that's watched any documentary on the Ramones (the good ones and the bad ones) has heard extensively from Arturo Vega.

It is hard to see those passings. I had not heard he had passed. The artists that were a part of The Ramones are dwindling. Rest in peace Mr. Arturo.


EDIT: I really enjoy his artistic vision, and his statements of the thoughts behind it.

This article, seemingly borrowing from the Spin article is nice, and includes a video that is enjoyable. Couple F-bombs in the video if you are concerned about that.
