Managed to see Dom perform, across the river from THE World Series game -the drive in was something, as it was very busy (duh!) and extra security was in place for the Presidential visit...
Dom's performance was great. So many good things to say about it: his talent and spirit, old forgotten blues songs he revived, humorous lyrics, very expressive guitar picking.
BTW, this was at Club Passim, which is the current name of the iconic Club 47 from the sixities (see Wikipedia), which brought forgotten old blues guys (like Doc Watson) and bluegrass to the Northeast, in addition the likes of the young Jon Baez, Bob Dylan...
Dom as a solo artist e is currently publishing under the Music Maker Relief Foundation banner. This is a very interesting non-profit which pays some winter utility and medical bills to old musicians, and even provide a new instrument as needed, so that they can keep earning through gigs. Their board of directors has a variety of well-known characters, like Kenny Wayne Sheppard, the Trucks, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, and the late Levon Helm.
