Pretty amazing idea - for all you engineering gearhead types!
"Fluence is based on the notion that coils can be applied rather than wound. Like traces on a circuit board, concentric spirals of “coil” can be printed."

I read that. If it came from anyone except Fishman, I'd be quite skeptical. I'd like to hear them in real life.

There's a new video by Greg Koch at the NAMM who demonstrate a little bit the new pickups mounted on his Strat

Hmm...the idea is certainly very cool, what I'm worried is whether they have any life to them left or is it too synth like already. But, actives can be a little neutral sounding and yet very warm and lively with a tube amp. The demo only features very clean sounds and those to me felt almost like di guitar sounds.

Premier Guitar has a demo with him with less puke-inducing camera work:

They've got an article on them in the latest issue of the magazine that I think explains them in more detail.

I dunno why demo a pickup and use a sound that is just like an unplugged electric. No color, nothing.
