I discovered the idea in a nutrition book (see below), and it is a kick-butt easy and quick infusion.

You need
- some ginger root
- agave syrup, optional

Serves two
Cut 3/4 in. to an inch of ginger root in thin slices, and put in a teapot.
Boil water and pour boiling water over ginger slices.
Let infuse for 15 minutes, covered.

Serve hot (or cold as well)
You may sweeten with a (very) small amount agave syrup, as you like. Agave syrup is very sweet, yet has a much, much lower glycemic index than regular sugar.

Delicious, healthy, and easy to make rolled into one!

Incidentally, this came out of the late David Servan-Shreiber's book "Anti Cancer, a New Way of Life", which expand beautifully on balanced nutrition, a good cancer prevention habit, and contributor to overall fitness.
Mr Servan-Shreiber was the real deal, having helped create Doctors without Borders, not just in an office, but in the field.
