Hey folks,

I wasn't quite happy with the Burstbuckers in my Gibson R7. Especially the neck pick up was one of the problems. So I contacted German pu specialist Harry Haeussel, who also winds the puck ups for the Nick Huber guitars.
He advised a P90 in HB format for the neck and a 59 HB for the bridge. Can't express how happy I am with the choice. Here's some jamming, if you'd like to give it a look:

Let me know what you think. I personally think that the character of the guitar totally shines through.

Sounds great Jimi, thanks for posting! It cuts through nicely. Perhaps a bit more bass on the lead tone would have been nice, or maybe I just had too much coffee... it does sound very cool.

Thanks Robert. I usually put the bass on my Bassman and JTM to zero as I am driving the amps very loud and both do not handle it well when you raise the basses.

Nice stretching out there, Jimi - the guitar sounds great, but the touch on the strings makes the major difference, I suspect!

Thanks a lot. Although this was supposed to be a simple tone demo, I couldn't help but put a little emotion in the playing :-)

Really sounds great Jimi I love the crunchy sound which still has a nice definition :thumbsup If it's not too much asking what are the price range of those pups ?

Thanks my friend. Indeed, these PUs have an awesome definition. The price for the set is approx 250€, but Mr Haeussel matches the set and ages the covers if you want. So they also look great :-)
I think Haeussel has established with supplying the PUs for the Nick Huber guitars - an extremely high quality reference.

The pickups sound great. The playing is also inspiring. Are you using an amp or direct? Assuming an amp, which also sounds excellent. Loving the sound of the guitar overall. Is there coil splitting too?

Thanks! It's a regular Fender Bassman Ltd and a ProCo The Rat pedal from the 80s.
No coil splitting option, but the PUs are so underwound that you do not really need it.

Hey Jimi! Good to hear from you again. Not sure if the pups or the playing sound better. Both are pretty great. I much prefer a P90 tone to a standard single coil. Gutsier. They can also sound downright rude if you play your cards right :)

Hey, Jimi, sounds great my friend! I haven't been around here much (forever it seems like), great to hear what you're doing with that gear.
Hard to go wrong with a JTM or Bassman either one!
