Actually, it was here on TheFret where I learned about The Heritage.....you guys remember Hubberjub? He bought some guys stable of 150's (a 150 is Heritage's designation for it's Les Paul type guitar), four of them I think it was. That piqued my curiosity and down the wormhole I went....

both of these guitars are mine, the lefty is old style burst, the righty is autumn burst I believe, something like that. The righty looks amazing but next to the lefty, the colour gets washed out and more cherry looking.

I play the lefty and currently the righty is with my guitar teacher, he's using it to cut some tracks that he is making.

Long story, ha

wow that looks TOTALLY different in that pic. Beautiful guitar. Good on ya to loan your 535 out on extended duty.

On the photobucket shots, if you wish to post the photo itself in the thread....(maybe you don't) copy the third link down, tagged IMG, and post that here. Then we see the actual pic. Cuz, you know, I'm gonna hurt myself clicking links all the time. :poke

Are you guys buying these beauties new, or scouring gear forums and craigslist, etc?
I haven't seen any Heritage guitars around Alberta where I live.

No kidding. Good thing I like shredder guitars. I'll just keep repeating that to myself over and over.

Yes and yes.

As a shop, they finish about a dozen guitars a day, in all the styles you see here, plus others, and even a style or two not shown anywhere, you just need to know they make 'Em and who to ask.

They do show up on the 'bay, clist, reverb etc.

These guys are very much still at it.

Hey Kidsmoke, thanks again for pointing some of us over to this site.

Unfortunately, they finish about a dozen guitars a WEEK, 3 or 4 a day, and are closed on Fridays, unless that has changed recently. Even at that, a LOT of them are shipped overseas, especially to Asia, for some reason.

Robert, you would totally rock a Heritage; they are like Lay's potato chips; you can't just have ONE... keep your eye out for one, or come down to Chicago sometime so kidsmoke and I can let you try ours out!

Yeah. That's right.. I knew it was a dozen. Screwed up unit of measure.

I bought both of mine new...the Sweet 16 was NOS sitting in a NJ music store and I picked up the Prospect at the factory.

being a lefty, its sometimes harder to get the guitars, but that's the reason I went to Heritage instead of Gibson. Hard to try out a lefty Gibson and I hear that there are some very nasty ones along with the good ones. Heritages are much more consistent.

I bought the 150 new from a lefty guitar shop, Jerry's in sarasota, fl. The two 535s I bought used, one is a 2007 (lefty) and the righty is a 2009. Also, much better pricing both new and used for Heritage vs Gibson.
