Looking to convert the bridge on a builder Strat from a six screw vintage to a hardtail.. anyone have an outlet for an inexpensive bridge besides the flame conversion model at musicians friend??? really don't want to stick a $50 bridge on a $60 parts guitar.....

Then youll always have a $60 parts guitar *shrug*
Why not put the money into it, even if its only value is that you enjoy it?

I have installed 5 tremolo springs tightened the pivot screws and installed a wooden block...it is quite solid.. just wondering if there was a replacement retrofit bridge out there...

I've done that and used a block of wood to hold the string block, then tightened the springs. I think Clapton did the same on Blackie. It works well, but now I'm building a hard tail strat from scrach. You can also get a standard tailpiece for about $10 and put some wood back into the body cavity and do about the same.

this is a POS power chord turn up the gain banger, not a pristine vintage whatever
