I love this. It a used Custom Shop from L&M in Edmonton. My first Fender CS.

I also snagged a Super on Kijiji.

Our new dog is learning that these things make serious noise... she is not liking it. Yet. But she will.

The guitar sounds fantastic!

Very lovely. Always wondered about getting a CS guitar. Are they appreciably different or better in specific ways, or just better in general? Love the relicing and the Super too

It depends. Hit and miss. Many of the custom shop fenders I’ve tried over the years have been so-so, nice but nothing special. This one, however, felt amazing and sounds like it too. I think it LOOKS like it as well... I immediately fell in love with it and it sounds like a vintage guitar - very old school.

It’s not easy to play as my Suhr. It makes me work a bit more and I don’t mind that. I play different on this guitar, I think. Make each note count.

That's the way I feel about my strats. Love em but they want me to dig the notes out, as opposed to some other guitars that are a bit friendlier. Anyway a very nice addition. Enjoy and maybe post a clip sometime.

Whoah a great buy Robert it looks gorgeous even if I'm not a big fan of heavy reliced guitars. Are the pickups towards 60's pickups ?

Must be some kind of 70's reissue judging by the headstock? How does the SR compare to your other amps - I think this is your first Fender amp? Glad that you and the doggie are getting along!

Relicing isn't my thing, but I totally get why people like it on the neck anyway. Was it reliced from the custom shop or by its previous owner?

OT: For some reason the new posts thing hasn't been working for me. I just noticed I missed a bunch of threads!

Actually, right after posting that, I saw a number of 60's strats with the big headstock - I thought it was always described as a 70's style...

Jipes, "hand wound 1969 neck pickup, hand wound reverse-wound/reverse-polarity 1965 middle pickup and hand wound Fat '60s bridge pickup, with five-way switching and Vintage Modified wiring for modern versatility. "

Ted, it's a 1967 style Stratocaster and they had such headstocks then, I reckon? I am not really sure though.

It was factory relic'd.

I made a little demo... coming soon.

I was just going to ask!

Interesting - I thought that 'vintage modified' was a Squier thing... but now that I think of it, my SuperChamp xd is also labelled 'vintage modified'...
