Determine key/scale

I’m trying to build a lead over this progression: A maj/E maj/C maj/D maj. A minor pentatonic kind of works, but doesn’t sound great. Related C major scale - same. What scale should I be using?

Well seing an A chord a D chord and a E chord, I would use a major pentatonic scale (1.2.3.5.6) should work on this progression the only thing is the C# note of the pentatonic which would clash with the C major chord
