Phil Keaggy is not only a fantastic musician but a fine human being. I met him about 18 years ago at a gig he did at a local Calvary Chapel in town. I have some photos of him SOMEWHERE but I'm afraid that I have since lost those. :( He's a monster in his own right. It's been said that someone once asked Jimi Hendrix how it felt to be the world's best guitar player to which he replied...I don't know, why don't you ask Phil Keaggy. I've seen mention of this many times and I don't know if in fact the quote was factual or not. Nevertheless Mr. Keaggy rocks.

Wow, I'd never seen any of Phil Keagy from his Glass Harp days. I was only familiar with him from his more recent stuff. His acoustic albums are really nice. What a great player.

I've been listening to Crimson and Blue (among other albums) lately. He is really amazing.

I find that several players I listen to are heavily influenced by Phil, so it's interesting to go back and hear some of those things you find in other music and realize how they made their way through into the guitar playing of other people.

For example, Ty Tabor of King's X is one of my absolute favorite guitarists, and he's a Phil Keaggy disciple. It's fun to kind of draw the comparisons at certain times.
