Don't know if it's really true, but I heard somewhere that Blue Cheer was the only band ever kicked off the stage at the Fillmore for playing too loud! No easy feat!! :D :DR

Blue Cheer's "Summertime Blues" is from January 1968. Also from October 1968 is the MC5. "Kick Out The Jams" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7R5OkWVNfM

I think MC5 embodied heavy metal too and actually formed in 1964.

Hey, shows how much I don't know about that era of music. I know that Kick out the Jam tune, but only from a cover done by "The Presidents of the United States of America" who were popular in the Seattle club scene back in the 90s. This song about my favorite track off their disc back then. Now I know where it came from.
