Ergh. Hard one. I mean, Van Hagar is easy, since I didn't care much for the "killer party band" turned "feel good project" that it turned into the moment Sammy stepped in, so for that, I would say "Finish What Ya Started" for the excellent groove there.

But Van Halen? Yeowtch. Definitely something off of 1984. Drop Dead Legs? Panama? Top Jimmy? Nah. I'll say Hot For Teacher. Awesome groove and great shredding. :)

Wait....I think I just described almost all of the Roth era Van Halen songs there. ;)

For Van Halen, I'll list first their cover of You Really Got Me. I love their version. In case that doesn't count because it is a Kinks song, I will say Hot for Teacher.
Van Hagar, I was never a big fan. I guess I'll second Summer Nights.
