I just use a fine piece of .0000 steel wool on my frets - cleans them up in seconds and are smooth as silk! I also use blue masking tape to put over the exposed neck area to prevent and scuffs. It's easy to put on and a breeze to take off. :)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

+1 for steel wool.

Put it on a firm block to do the frets and just cup it in your palm to do the back of the neck should you feel the need to do it.
