Here is a link to a source for a number of Dashboard widgets that help with chords, riffs, or tabs. And they are Free!
http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/
You just type in "guitar" to the search window. The link to my search results would not show via link here.
For instance, this one gives you a new riff per day:

Here is a cool note and chord reference that is a port of some popular Mac shareware:

Pretty cool for free! :) :D :DR

Yep Swede, I have that one loaded because of your thread, and it gave me the idea to look for a few more guitar/music ones. Right now, my guitar widget you link above is set for the '50s aqua strat because of Tone's thread. I had left it on the SRV one for a while. :R

Here is another one that finds album art on Amazon, and imports it into iTunes for those albums you have where you don't have or couldn't find album art:

I just used it to pick up the Kingbees album art that was not uploaded when I loaded the album I just bought into iTunes.

Little programs that go on a "dashboard" that can track shipments, tell you the weather, track stocks, sports scores, etc, help with guitar stuff, tell you what is playing in iTunes etc. Click on the links and you will get the idea. The Borg copied the idea (not that Apple never copied anything) and has something in Vista that holds similar things called "gadgets".
