Hey!

I thought I would start a thread for talking about pedal modifications that either you have done yourself or have had somone else do for you. This can include links to modders web pages, tone discussions of the various mods, prices, service, boutique box reviews and general thoughts about non conforming to factory specs.

If you have had experience with a modification, done one yourself, heard one, seen one, smelled one, tasted one, etc. talk to us. We are all on the quest to boldly find tone where none has existed before.

One mod site that I have some experience with is Brian Wampler's Indy Guitarist.
He offers audio comparisons and excellent photos and instructions for each mod. He also has a great deal going that for $25 you can access every mod ever done forever.

Here is the subscription email that gets sent to members. Check the links.

Good news!
Our pedals are once again available - see http://www.indyguitarist.com/custompedals.htm

New Song's guitarist, Rico Thomas, is now using many of our custom effects! Rico picked up our Pinnacle 1, Pinnacle 2, Blue Fuzz, and our Sputter Fuzz recently for the huge tour they are doing with NEWSBOYS, tobyMac, & ZOEgirl. New Song is a very popular contemporary Christian Rock band. www.newsongonline.com

DIY books HUGE update!
***********************************************
Both the "how to modify effects" and the "how to build effect pedals" Books have been updated in December. New mods were added (modification book now contains mods for over 70 pedals!) as well as new sections in both books on reading schematics, using a multimeter, connecting pots and switches, and much more! AND - due to customer response, we've added schematics for many of the pedals in the modfication book. If you have already purchased, make sure you go to http://www.guitartone.net/diy and download the newest copy (you'll need your username and password).

In addition, we've eliminated the availability of our 'single' mod kits, which were downloads on how to modify one pedal only. Since you are a newsletter member, you are able to download the entire package (containing mods for over 70 pedals) for $25, which is 50% off the normal price. Hard copy book prices are not able to be discounted currently however. Here is the link to purchase: http://www.indyguitarist.com/1105-memberpricing.htm

NEW PRODUCT
***********************************************
This is a cool product I've been waiting to see someone make...it is guitar cables, power cables and everything you need for a pedalboard all in one cable - it really makes a pedalboard much neater and clutter-free! Check it out: http://www.guitartone.net/mf-cable.htm
Also make sure you check out their website - http://www.pedalsnake.com/ for more information. Make sure you check out their video too: http://www.pedalsnake.com/video/pedalsnake.wmv

Winner of ds-1 pedal
***********************************************
In December we held a contest to see how much traffic the newsletter members could drive to our newsletter signup page. The winner of the contest is MOE TENENBAUM. Congratulations - be looking for the custom modified boss ds-1 in the mail shortly. : )

Customer Service/Tech Support - new way to contact us instead of email
***********************************************
2005 was a huge growth year for us - I'd like to thank you personally for it! Without happy customers we simply wouldn't exist.

In order to keep providing excellent customer service, I've been trying several different methods. I am now implementing a new 'message board' which will be for questions, comments, suggestions and tech support. Here is what you would do. Go to http://www.guitartone.net/support.htm and you will be at the messageboard.

If you are not already registered on the indyguitarist messageboard, you will need to do so once only. This is ONLY to provide security against spammers, and is not used for anything other than the messageboard.

Customer Service and Technical Support provided here, as well as General Questions. Questions will be answered within a few hours during Monday-Friday from 8am to 3pm Eastern time. This will also serve as a "FAQ" page so if you have a question, it may be something someone else already asked, and you will be able to use the 'search' function to get an immediate answer.

Hopefully this will eliminate the ever-growing length of time it is taking me to reply to individual emails, as well as fix the problem of folks not receiving my email (or it being labeled as junk/spam mail by yahoo/hotmail/aol type email accounts.)

Thanks and take care,
Brian
