When I was a kid my parents made a deal with me, that if I wanted something expensive that they would match my saved funds towards the purchase...when I was 12 I told my Dad I wanted a guitar, and naturally they told me to save my money...I spotted an affordable electric guitar at our local music store and within no time Id saved enough and she was mine!

The guitar was a transparent candy apple red Palmer with one humbucker, one maybe two knobs, Strat shape with nice contours.

Within that year it was obvious that I was really taking to playing guitar, I took leasons and everything...it occupied almost all of my time. That following Christmas my recently divorced parents got me a new Ibanez and a Peavey amp(waaay too big)...the new gear prompted me to get rid of my first, and to this day I still regret it! I still kinda own the Ibanez, I gave it back to my dad after getting my Tele, but he doesnt play it and it just sits on a stand...

BUT I want another PALMER!!! And not just any Palmer, I want one similar to my "first". Ive searched Google, Ebay and the like...but Im not finding much. The other day I found a site that carries/handles Palmer, but it sounds as if Palmer was just an importer and that theyd slap thier names on just about anything.

What I dont get is, what happens to all the old guitars??? Why is it I cant find many of these Palmers???

As you can tell, I really want another one...any ideas?

This is what Ive found so far: http://aboutpalmer.com/

Did you find a good deal on a Palmer electric, acoustic, or bass guitar? Now you want to know more about them? We own Palmer, Schecter, Jackson, Washburn and others. We test guitars and review them. Your Palmer guitar might be featured here or in our slide show.

Palmers have a good low action and quality sound. Setups are good from the factory. Maintenance after the sale can be performed by your local music shop. Our Curly Maple has tone pro style tuners which are easy to tune. Our solid alder Palmer four string bass guitar is light which is a feature after being on stage for a while. Jacks for instrument cables are on the front of many models. Our Palmers stay in tune.

Palmer guitars, or even a Bridgecraft or Ernie Ball Music Man will sound equally bad if you play it through a poor amplifier. We test our bass guitars with a 400 watt stage quality bass amp, while others are played though full range professional quality amplifiers. Our experiences have been great and yours can differ. Let's feature some Palmer products. (Palmer guitars are not manufactured by Palmer Audio Products which makes effects pedals, or palmergear.com)

More:

If you found a Palmer electric or acoustic guitar on eBay or some other source you might be asking 'Who makes Palmer guitars', and the answer is that there is no Palmer Guitar Company.

When manufacturers and suppliers enter into a contract to build to specifications the name goes on the instrument. Palmers are manufactured in this manner to high quality standards with quality components

Some Palmers have the patented Floyd Rose system with locking bridge. The quality is outstanding compared to guitars sold by some other manufacturers, and on par with Jackson and Schecter. The neck of our Jackson DK2 is smoother than the neck of our Palmer Curly Maple Les Paul style but both play equally well, although the Jackson is lighter.

Im still searching as I type this...just found this, not my old guitar but could be my new one *shrug* http://www.tropicalmusic.com/catalogo/instrumentos_musicales/palmer_pe_lps.htm

Well heres some current models, http://www.roxymusic.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=rx&Category_Code=PLMRE

Check out this 'burst,

Ah...Im searched out, but passionate about finding another like my first:(
Seriously...any suggestions where to look???

Palmers are all over Ebay.
Do an advanced search and search the entire text not just the titles. I see them all the time.

Here is one. I know there are plenty of others because I see them all the time. They don't put the brand name in the ad very often.

Wow that Jazz Bass lookin' thing on their Ebay store is nice and it's cheap as hell. If I didn't already have one I'd get that.
