I have been on a journey to find a good cheap les paul double cutaway. I was looking at the epiphone 57 reissue lespual jr and was wondering if any one has played one? If so i was thinking of cuting the body to make one a double cutaway. Any suggestions?

Wow... 5 months on the board and not a single response ??? This is uncommon for the folks around here.

Well, better late than never I guess.

My take on this would be to buy a double cutaway if that's what you're really looking for.

You're clearly looking for a Les Paul copy type guitar that won't break the bank.

Ibanez guitars have always impressed me as being solid 'good value' guitars.

I just searced out this one which is a double cutaway, set neck, mahogony body with an arched top.

Without doing an extreme modification, it would be easier to sell off if it doesn't meet your needs in the future.

Hope this helps...

Cheers! :canada:

Hello

Man I don't know how I missed this one. I love cuttin stuff up but I agree whole heartedly with Algonquin on this one. Man what a deal on that Ibanez you can't go wrong. I need a humbucking guitar and I am seriously thinking about one of these myself and I have an Epiphone LP setting here I am thinking about cuttin up. This one has a broken headstock though:messedup:

Another option if you want P-90's on your doublecut would be a used Hofner Colorama, a MIC import:

The import MIK Hamer doublecut (model-named a 'sunburst" by Hamer, but available in burst or as a goldtop) is also an option:
