so once again something went wrong with my strat i broke one of my vibrato springs but would it hurt to only have two vibrato strings

If you are using 9 gauge strings hook the two remaining springs to the center most holes in the claw and then attach the springs to the outside holes on either end of the tremolo block. It will look like a "V" and should work just fine.

Those springs are easy to come by if you need more pull on the tremolo.

Notice: it is called a 'tremolo'.:)

It wont 'hurt' anything per sey..

But a number of things may of happened as a result of the spring breaking that may need to be adressed...

Primarly if the tremelo was 'floating' at the time (able to go UP AND down.. ) then your intonation is likely off because the bridge has shot a bit forward due to the brokens spring inability to hold it back..

Best bet is to go to a local guitar joint, and ask if they know where you can get a spriong.. they should be very available and rather inexpensive..
