I hope that I have that name right - put on some headphones at Borders to listen to an new CD by John Mayall (In the Palace of the King) that I bumped into. His guitarist is phenomenal - beautiful tone and wonderful licks. I haven't been able to turn up anything about him - anyone familiar with him?

Yeah, I mentioned Buddy in one of my recent threads. There is some very cool stuff on Youtube if you search for Dr Z amps.

I first heard him play on the Dr. Z website.

He's the next in a long line of great blues guitarists who have gone through the John Mayall Bluesbreakers experience. John Mayall sure has a talent for spotting great blues guitarists.
