Ok, I know Cab Calloway has nothing to do with guitars, but O-M-G!!! His sound was AWESOME!!!
Amazing how Rock evolved from swing

Hidee hidee ho! Another classic find.
Could you imagine a drop tuned guitar through a Mesa stack back then. People would have fainted.
I also noticed they didn't have affirmative action back then...no whites in the band.:D

I could watch Louis Prima all day long. He is a funny guy along with his side kick female (who never smiles:confused:). I think his acts are hilarious.

Keeley Smith was another woman that had some pipes on her. Ive always liked her as a singer, but Louie is my favorite singer of all time.

I got a Cab Calloway compilation cd "Are You Hep To The Jive?" about a month or two ago. Great stuff, he had a smokin' band! And his lyrics are pretty darn funny too. Also just got the Brian Setzer "Guitar Slinger" cd last week, one of the songs on it is called "Hey Louis Prima"....
