Ok. I'm going to try this seriously, I promise...
Any tips from you seasoned transcribers ?
I have audacity so I think I can slow it down with that.
I don't know the entire fretboard inside out and my ear is not trained, will that be a huge hinderance ?
thanks

From what you said I think it's going to be a problem but hell, give it a shot.

Just to tab. When I say my ear is not trained, meaning I can't tell you what it is that I'm hearing. I can tell the difference between the "right" note and the wrong.
Where's Robert, I think he's a big transcribing fan.
Robert ! where are you ?!

Hey Ted,
transcribing will help you to get a better overview of your fretboard. The transcribing process is hearing, playing, writing it down - especially writing it down in a transcritption forces you to put the guitar aside - you know we all doodle and doodle, but here you concentrate on one single thing.
Transcribing will help you to be able imagining notes things better on the fretboard.
Be aware that transcribing is pretty exhausting and a lot of work, it will definitely not be something you do for the rest of your life.
I often transcribe some of my solos. :puke:
