I know that there are a lot of Beatles fans at The Fret. I also know there are a lot of fans of good groovin' funk music. Has anybody heard the album McLemore Avenue by Booker T. & The MG's? The album consists of The MG's covering large portions of the Abbey Road album [including the lengthy medley at the end]. Hearing the incomparable Steve Cropper rip through "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" is worth the price of the cd all by itself. While I love their versions of the "Abbey Road Medley," it is the MG's take on "I Want You/She's So Heavy" that is the true gem of the album. This tune is probably the tightest "funk" groove the Beatles got into, and the MG's really show that off. Fans of the Beatles and/or the MG's should really check this one out. Warning, it's highly addictive.
