Where does all this YouTube stuff come from? Digital cameras and other digital recording media have been around for only, what 6 or 7 years? But where does all this older material come from? Sometimes I wonder if it is not uploaded by ex-band members or even the TV stations that have been storing it in their vaults. There where no VHS recorders back in the 60s and 70s. I bought my first VHS camera back in 1985. So … where does all these old YouTube videos come from?

I think people over the years have video taped material and then put it into the computer. Some probably comes from overseas or special programming that we don't get to see or hasn't been shown for a long time.
Also, there might be industry insiders who feel like we do and this great stuff needs to be seen and heard and the have access to archives.

Why don't you search youtube and see if there is an answer? I'm curious too.
