Tradition Tele copy....all ceramic pups, push pull in the neck, and bone nut stock!

The binding on this thing is spot on.

Cool Jerry Reed model. Of course I've been Jonesing for one of those too. What do you think of it? How does it play?

Indo-knees-ya...the J.R. special is an US made in Kentucky. It plays like a dream....tele twang with great rhythm growl!

Its a great axe for pickin and grinnin...its also great for classic rock...the Neck pup is a little boomy but its great for rhythm work...also the neck is probably one of the best I have ever played, its SLICK and fast. My only gripe is that the coil cut doesn't sound too great, but it simulates enough. This played through my Delta Blues is awesome for lightly OD blues. I wan't to put new pups in it and wire it up different...the jack is a little iffy sometimes also. It was 350 dollars.

Well, I don't know about a stone cold beauty, and I sure would love one of those Agiles or similar one day, but here is my black rock and roller:

Soon to be modded with Tone's old Dimarzio Virtual Hot PAF 'bucker (zebra) in the bridge and a 10k Lil' Killer rail pup from GFS in the neck, with a push/pull pot. I may try out creme strat knobs (Tone's again) to go with the Zebra pup. Might not work as well with the push/pull feature though.

If I stepped on your toes I am really sorry......I didn't see a black guitar thread - either I'm blind or it went low on the list and I didn't scroll down...either way my apologies.

Lots of pretty guitars here. I got mine black because I can't decide what color I want. My carvin bolt kit may be black too.

E series Korean Strat. The pickups are the weakest link, but otherwise it feels and sounds great. The neck has a V to it.

Yep, I remember that photo or one that was similar to it. Auto drool!!!

I noted a few times I never name my guitars, but when I posted the pic, I noted it as "The Gift". It has a nice ring to it and that's now the guitars name. I've been playing it off and on for a couple of hours tonight and may have a jam session Sunday over at a coworkers house (Rocket, definition of coworker: One who works with another; a fellow worker.)

Wings, that Johnson looks sweet!

Um, I should probably rephrase that.

Seriously though, I've never played a resonator and I've always been curious about them.

Just picked up a new pickup for it tonight... A Gibson Classic '57 Plus for the bridge to compliment the Gibson Classic '57 I put in the neck position a couple of months ago. :Dude:

Very nice looking axe, indeed, Algonquin! Got a clip to share?

Speaking of black LP's, I posted this pic before, but it bears repeating. These belong to a friend that I used to work with. He's an "LP-aholic", owning TEN of them, all Gibsons. This shot features his three black ones, but you can see several of the other in the background:

Yo, Shine! Nice Save :AOK:

My Johnson is a Squareneck, with intentionally high action. Practical strictly for metal tonebar slide, 'lap style' or standing - horizontal at the hip.

It's my 1st & it was my wife's gift to me last Christmas. It's been a slow, inconsistent attempt learn by-DVD so far. But there's 'flashes' of 'oh-wow' moments that you mangage to get 'that voice' out of it, and it motivates hanging with it.

I just knew you'd bop along to crack the whip on me, M-Cat

It's coming along. My DVD 'Task Master' is Jerry Douglas w/ his 'Dobro Techniques video, backing up a 'Beginning Dobro' DVD by SMP. I know there's lots of other instructional video's, but these 2 are working for me.

A good part of the early stages of learning is finding the right bar - overall best shape, weight, feel. I've gotten 3 - Shubb SP-3, Dunlop 926 Lap Dawg, but the best one for me it seems is the Shubb GS (wood grip on a steel).

The Johnson is a decent $300 'starter' instro, well-made, good European spun-aluminum cone, everything fits nice. nIce ring & sustain, stays in tune & plays smooth & screechless with D'add EFT-13 Reso Flat-tops (nice heavy G). When I get a good handle on it all, I'll be hunting for an upgrade, I know.

I also restrung my Fender Lap to match as an electric Dobro...so I've been splitting time...
