I have been looking for the thread which discussed shipping guitars. I can not find it. I don't remember if FEDEX is better than UPS. I believe Spuds mentioned UPS was the cheapest. I have two guitars that I will be shipping soon. Thanks for any help.

I have accounts with both UPS & FedEx but I prefer FedEx for shipping guitars. Here's why:
I've had less damage experiences with them.
They always deliver on schedule or early.
Excellent & accurate tracking & notification system.
Shipment continues to move on weekends.
Saturday deliveries.
Rates are equivalent or less.

I prefer UPS only because every time I purchase something from Sweetwater, FedEx is late or screws up the delivery (leaves notes stating signature required, but in fact it was not). As for damage, I have not had issues with either.

Saving Money Tip: If you ship from a business, to a business, you save money. I don't recall the amount, but I've shipped guitars to my friends down in Lone Star State and I sent it to where they work and got a reduced rate (Shiner claims he works, but I think the address was actually a Pub)

Voodoo,

How did you find that thread? :whatever: I searched for at least 30 minutes using all kinds of search words.

FedEx for all the reasons Rocket lists. For personal shipments they are the best of the 4 carrier companies in my opinion.
