Well, the Vox AD50VT 112 combo arrived. Unpacked it, plugged in, and ...NOTHIN'. :reallymad:
Wiggled the cable end just right...wait, there it is...sound...nope. A short in the input jack. Shipped it back, and I'll try another one.

Anyone else having problems with this amp?

I have the AD30VT and had zero problems - love the amp. I've heard very little negative comments about either and I think you just might have been unlucky and it's not a reflection of the amp.

Just curious, where did you purchase your amp?

Bought online from MusiciansFriend.com...no sales tax...free shipping.
At least they handled it great. Within minutes of my phone call, they emailed me a pre-paid UPS return shipping label. And there's a drop-off location about a mile from my home. I've seen some really mixed consumer reviews for this "E tailer", but I placed a $1400 order with them, and all the gear was at my door within 3 days.

For what it's worth: for the limited time I actually had the amp working...it really rocked! That's why I'll give it another go.

Well, I'm glad to hear they treated you well. I think I've dealt with them once and had no problems.

Looking forward to hearing the reviews when you get the new one, that is when you can turn it off long enough to write one.:Dude:

I have the AD50VT 212 and I've never had a problem with mine. I had previously owned an AD100VT again with zero problems.

In my opinion these are great amps with alot of versatility and decent tones.
I upgraded the speakers in mine and it really brought the amp alive even more.

I've read alot of reviews though with people having problems with the input jack either falling in the amp or being faulty..that seems to be the biggest complaint.

Here's what I do to keep the jack from wiggling loose (and I learned this from another guitarist): when you plug into your amp, first loop the cable around your amp handle...that way if there is any tension on the cable, the handle absorbs it and not the input jack.
