As I'm sure you are all well aware, I love G&L's instruments, particularly the ones produced prior to Leo Fender's passing, a.k.a. the "Leo era" or "pre-BBE era."

As I've also tried to convey in some of my posts, much of what we choose to play in the way of electric guitar today, is thanks in great part to the genius and engineering excellence of this one man.

Just to give you a small taste of what he accomplished, I'm posting a link to the US Patent Office, showing patents issued to Leo Fender, from 1976 onward. There are 28 patents shown here. These would all be for things that Leo came up with during either the CLF Research (MusicMan) years, or during his final years as co-founder of G&L. They don't include any of the stuff that he did with K&F or with either Fender Musical Instruments or CBS/Fender. That list would be even more extensive!

US Patent Office, C. Leo Fender (http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=0&f=S&l=50&TERM1=Fender%3B+C.+Leo&FIELD1=INZZ&co1=AND&TERM2=&FIELD2=&d=ptxt)

The man was just a flat out genius!!! He gets four!
