I've been looking at these Agile LP copies for awhile now and finally pulled the trigger when I saw a slim profile neck in the natural spalted maple. Here are the specs:

Solid mahogany (not a multi-ply!) arch top body
Neck Taper (thickness) at the first fret is 17mm and 21mm at the 12th fret. (vs: 21.5 mm at the 1st fret and 23.5mm at the 12th fret for the standard AL-3000 model)
High quality Spalted Canadian Maple Top (100% real wood top-not a photo top!)
Triple bound body, and headstock. Single binding on neck.
Improved Nickel plate hardware, including Nickel die-cast Grover tuners with 18-1 turning ratio for ultra fine tuning (Model 102-18N)
Two Type V Alnico humbucker pickups for warm, tradional sound
The AL-3100 comes with improved wiring (4 conductor), improved pots (now higher voltage with brass shafts for reduced noise) and an improved pickup selector switch
Two volume and two tone controls, plus a three way pickup selector switch
One piece Mahogany set neck with 13.7" (350mm) radius neck for fast play and adjustable truss rod
Ebony fretboard with 22 Jumbo frets and real Mother-Of-Pearl Trapezodial inlays
The AL-3100 features GHS strings installed at the factory and a professionally cut bone nut
A pre-cut graphite nut is also included in the bag with the trus rod adjuster for those who prefer graphite
Individually hand filed frets for professional feel and playability
Width of the neck at the nut: 1 5/8"; at the 21st fret: 2 3/16"
Overall length: 40"; Scale length: 24.7"
Body thickness: 2" at edge; Width at the widest point: 13"
Bridge pole spacing is 3", and the Tail piece pole spacing is 3 1/4"
Actual Weight is only 10 lbs

I've only had it a few days, but I can't put it down.....the stock pickups are warm and full sounding. It also sounds great unplugged. It's a guitar that sounds great and makes me want to play more! The slim profile neck fits my smaller hands perfectly. It has MOP inlays instead of the abalone inlays on the AL-3000's. I took off the pickguard to show more of the spalt. It is by far my heaviest guitar and weighs all of the 10 lbs stated on the specs, but since I am a casual player, the weight is not an issue for me.

And now for what you really want.....I'm not much of a photographer, but here are a couple of pics:

     I have been looking at those agiles for some time, thinking I may go that way when I finally throw down for an LP guitar. (Next year at the very earliest for sure). It looks sweet! Congrats.

GG,

Very nice addition to the herd. Yep, new guitars are tough to put down.

That is a nice list of equipment that you have assembled there. I never took notice to the amp and pedals - nice, very nice.

For the price, I don't think you can go wrong. I paid $370.00 for the guitar and another $60.00 for a hard shell case. If you buy a guitar and case together, Rondo ships the guitar in the case. Here is the link to Rondo:

The Agiles I looked at are on the last page of the electric section. There are also reviews of the Agiles on Harmony Central:

Pretty funny. Good one.:rotflmao:

I know what you mean though. My Agile LP with P90's is a tank but it plays so well that it's worth all the suffering and walking with a tilt after you play it for a while. I had to go with a 3" leather strap to spread some of the weight over my shoulder.

Congratulations. It sure looks nice. So what kind of wood is that spalted top?

Sweet, sweet! I'd like one of those!

Congrats. I'll keep those in mind myself, although I'm thinking I might go for a Hagstrom.

Heh, Heh, yep, those two are at the top of my list for adds. I could go for the right Epi LP too, but a certain Agile LP copy keeps calling me, as does the Hagstrom 335 style guitar. In that category, I think I would go that way.

Agiles are great guitars, even more so if you factor in their price. That spalted maple is beautiful. Gives it a nice old vibe.

Very sweet axe there, GG! The Agiles are amazing values, no doubt. And that spalted maple top is a finish you don't see every day. Great buy! :AOK:

Robert, you might want to consider that Hagstrom Viking model--you could kill two birds with one stone. Both a semi-hollowbody 335-type, and a dual humbucker guitar (of which it's about freakin' time you had one! ;) ). There's a review of the Viking in this month's Guitar Player, and they were very positive on the guitar. The only "negative" mentioned was that they said it was voiced a bit darkly....but then you have "bright" guitars covered pretty well in your current collection, so that hardly seems a drawback for you!

DVM, that is the one I was looking at. I love the look of that guitar!

Very nice looking guitar. Normally, I'm not so sure about spalted maple, but that looks really good. I made the mistake of looking at one of their P90-equipped goldtops the other day . . .

GG :DR

If you look at several "well known" brands, you'll discover Agile has really consistently high ratings for all models. The most dissapointed I've ever been with guitar brands is with every Epiphone I've owned. :D

Beautiful GG.

May I ask...

just how does one *SPALT* a maple, & can one spalt anything else?

I'm anxious to know, so I can spalt my Honda Accord ;).

Spalting is any form of wood coloration caused by fungi. Check you the wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spalting).
