Man you Ozzies get all the good stuff early!

I'll console myself with the thought that you also end early.

Soon it'll be your beddy-bye time Robert & we won't even have started to party yet ;) :rotflmao:;).

Happy New Year (while it lasts :D).

Ah yes! Many US fretters will be happily in the same situation tonight.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year.

I will be home with the wife having our traditional New Year meal of steak, lobster and shrimp. My two kids (18 and 16) will join us for dinner and then go to parties. Use to be the kids just wanted pizza and the meal wasn't as expensive, but hey it's only once a year:)

Robert, you are a wild man, I couldn't stay awake until 12:00

Turf, surf, and a tiny wee bit of more surf!

Sounds great to me.

All the fretters over to Strummy house for dinner.

Who's place are we going to after for the jammin' party?

We'll leave Strumster to clean up & go to beddy-bye ;).

You're gonna need more than one bottle of aquavit to kill the taste of this.
Get the cheap stuff, who cares if it has sailed around Oz & waved at Robert's house. It's medicine dammit!

Happy New Year to the land down under!

Tot, amazing you found Oskars Surströmming, my favorite! I really love this stuff, believe it or not. Not likely people in north America will ever find it in a local store though...

Actually we had turkey, but I washed it down with a generous amount of Aalborg Taffel Aquavit (danish firewater).
Its a very effective medicine!

Here's a NY Times review of that stuff

...no not the stinky strummmsuslongenshluuslos

the aquavit.

So you didn't get cheap stuff, but you didn't drink Linie either which is sailed across back & forth the equator for reasons only the Norwegians care about.

We had chinese orange chicken and were mellow. Kids were sick. Having a day of rest with the recovering young ones today. Happy New Year's everyone! I hope all of you have great and blessed years!

The Aalborg brand of Aquavit is highly recommended! Very tasty stuff.
I do have a bottle of linie aquavit, but I have yet to discover the difference in taste from non-equator experienced aquavit.

I better learn about that stuff. Norwegian is my most contiguous chunk of my mixed up American heritage, and the one I claim most often other than my ancestors from Tipperary! Hmm, Lefsa washed down with some Guiness, that might do it!
