Any for you guys?

I spent most of the year listening to stuff from before.

Springsteen's album deserves a mention, though I don't count it as one of his classics.

This is I guess my best discovery of 2007. Switchfoot, "Oh Gravity"

Not many actual band vids to show, but this gives the flavor.

Look here, and click the song "Circles" It is a little "prog' feeling. http://www.myspace.com/switchfoot

What stuff did you guys find?

I am sure Sweden released some good stuff in '07.

That's a pretty cool track SVL... maybe someone hip will use the material for a 'Guess that Song' one day. :D

I like a wide variety of music... whatever moves me... this one is pretty cool imho.

It's no secret I'm a Tragically Hip Fan... hey, I'm Canadian!

Music is such a personal and individual thing, this song form the Hip helped me during a tough time back in '92 as my Mother passed away from cancer.

Courage, it couldn't come at a worse time...

It will be always be one one of favorite songs for helping me through a rough spot.

Hey, I remember that Tragically Hip piece. Nice! So these guys are related? I had never heard of them.

So can anyone else turn me on to some new music? I spent most of the year listening to John Mayer from 06 and 07 (EDIT, Oops, I mean 06 and 05)..

Setzer's new one is supposed to be good, but I have not listened to it.

Go back and read a lot of my "Have You Heard" posts, I think a lot of it is stuff that will appeal to you Steve.

The music scene (radio) has gotten really bad in Cleveland that I listen to older CD's while in the car. When I do listen to the radio I'm not paying too much attention to the band names.

The only thing new for me in 07 was Arcade Fire. I had never heard of them before until I saw them on Austin City Limits PBS broadcast and I thought they were great.

I'm attracted to bands that add a new or different element to their music.

I didn't buy much new music in 2007. Joe Bonamassa's "Sloe Gin" is about it. It's a very cool album, if you haven't checked it out yet.

I've been on an acoustic bent of late returning to one of my top 5 cd favorites, 'Skip, Hop and Wobble' with Gerry Douglas, Russ Bahrenberg and Edgar Meyer - some of the greatest tunes and most awesome ensemble playing ever made IMHO - if you haven't heard it, check it out. This inspired that purchase of Russ Bahrenburg's recent solo cd, "When at Last' which aso features Douglas and a slew of beautiful tunes/playing.
