I don't remember how I aquired this..but I kinda like the feeling of this Backing... Jazzy in Am...Cool Jazz Turns Blue BT http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=469107 find the backing there and my take on it..
I added a Bass line and used the tele Neck pickup with Cyber-Champ on Clean Tweed with some Spring Reverb..

You can download the MP3 or just listen to it.. some reason the HI-Fi drags for me always... try Lo-Fi Button.. hope someone else likes it besides me... look forward to hearing some solos over it...

Hey Justa – Your track has only been on the Fret Net for a short time and is already famous. I know that song! Kidding aside, the Cat Strut sounds “cool”. I will work on it tonight and hopefully record something tomorrow night.

Now if we could get some of these other “well seasoned” players to pick up their ax and entertain us with their playing skills and savvy soloing techniques.

What I have been doing is downloading the original track submitted along with the fretter's take on that song. I set the songs up to play one after the other. The diversity is fun to listen too and to realize how music has enormous variations to which it can be taken to by the player.

I assume you have to be a Soundclick member to get at that clip? Any chance you could post a copy here, for convenience sake? I belong to enough things already!

Tim-- Heh..glad you know it.. I know the beat but can't think what it goes to for the life of me.. Look forward to your take on it..

Voodoo-- You probably do have to join SoundClick to download the MP3.. Sorry... Here is links to SaveFile.com... no need to join here to get the files...

The Backing Track : http://www.savefile.com/files/7089932

My Take On it: http://www.savefile.com/files/7849896

Unfortunate but Fret.net just can't handle the size of these files... so there is always alternatives..

It’s the “Stray Cat Strut” by the Stray Cats aka Brian Setzer

Official Website:
http://www.briansetzer.com/

The Song:

Stray Cat Strut from the album "Stray Cats" (1981)

Black and orange stray cats sitting on a fence
Ain't got enough dough to pay the rent
I'm flat broke but I don't care
I strut right by with my tail in the air

Stray cat strut I'm a ladys' cat
A feline cassa nova hey man that's sad
Get a shoe thrown at me from a mean old man
Get my dinner from a garbage can

Yeah, don't cross my path

I don't bother chasing mice around
I slink down the alley, looking for a fight
Howlin' to the moonlight on a hot summer night

Singin' the blues while the lady cats cry
"Wild stray cat you're a real gone guy"
I wish I could be as carefree and wild
But I got cat class, and I got cat style

Hey Hey - Be easy on yourself Justaguy. That was 23 years ago. You were just probably somewhere else in your life at that time. Look at me ... I can’t remember the early Heavy Metal bands. I have no idea where I was, but beer drinking was one bad habit I had. If it wasn’t for meeting my wife, I would probably be dead from liver failure. But here I am learning my boyhood dream. Learning guitar. Goes to show you’re never too old.

I have this friend at work. He is tall and skinny and about 50 years young. He asked me the other day how my guitar pickin' was coming along. I told him since I joined the Fret net forum, I am doing pretty good. He said that was nice and started to walk away. I call him Frosty because of his name (Frostinston). I said, hey Frosty you would look good playing a banjo. He turned around and stated he always wanted to learn to play the banjo. I told him to not let anything stop him, not even his age. The next day I cut out two pages from MF and gave him some websites on learning to play the banjo. He tanked me with a big smile on his face. I have not seen him lately, but I do know what the first question will be when I see him.

BTW – All these years you had the melody in your head. You stepped forward and made a backing track. Because of that know you know the real song, got the link for the tabs and can review the video from back in1983. Hopefully within the next thirty days you will be picking and strumming the whole song with your hair in a pompadour.

Well I am either starting to get the feel for soling or Justaguy’s back track was an easy one to play to. I have finished my project earlier than expected.

VooDoo and I were discussing how big some of these files are. They will most likely cause Robert to expand the capacity of the forum. I have joined the “soundclick” community and opened an account, but I am not to sure on how to upload a song. Can anybody help me here?

Anyway, here is my song from the backing track. Hopefully this will me my last time I put a MP3 on the site itself.

Nice job Tim.... Aint they all suppose to be easy to solo? well, at least the best we can huh... I enjoyed it... As for soundclick.. You kinda play it out as an Agent... You need to login and goto Band Administration.. then press the Sign up a new band... You yourself will become that new band... then there will be a place to edit the band.. and to Upload a new song for that band.. Savefile.com is another good choice to store music.. Over there you Create a Project and add files to it... Only difference is you can get a link direct to the MP3 file so others do not have to sign up to download them.. ofcourse... signing up at either is not that difficult... Once again great sound.. enjoyed the clip.. keep that vox a squawk'n..
