I work next to Panasonic Automotive, and strolled over for a demo of their “ELS Surround “ car audio system, designed with engineer Elliot Shiner. Sounds like you’re in a friggin’ recording studio.

Anybody heard it/have it??
I thought it sounded absolutely killer with true DVD audio, but there aren’t many titles available in the format. Could be fun if you spend a lot of time in your car.

I remember when a pair of 6x9s and a tape deck from Sears was hi-fi for a car.

I think that this whole idea is ludacris, no offense radioboy, but really why are you going to need hi-def sound in your car on a DVD?!?!?! just think about the cost, and how much use you're going to be getting out of it when you're on a road trip, realising you can't enjoy said system because you're driving, unless after you've picked up a chick and you get in the back of the car just to entertain her afterwards.

My main reason for wanting DVD capabilities in a car stereo is for the 4.7G of mp3s I could put on there. Beats disc swapping.
