I scanned these pages and didn't see anything about Open Mic Nights anywhere on this planet. How about members posting any Jam Sessions
wherever they live. I myself live in south New Jersey and am still searching
the internet for anything on the weekends.
Who knows maybe some members can hookup.

Great idea! Hmm, should fit in under General Guitar Talk or what do you guys think?

There's a lot of those open mic nights in the S.E. Michigan area. The nearest one to my location is at The BlueStage Club. Here's a link -

It's the best sounding room I've ever played, and the atmosphere is way cool. I know it's a long way from Jersey, but check out this link -
www.ecurrent.com
It covers pretty much of what's happening in Ann Arbor, which is gererally quite a bit. If ya ever get bored, and want to take a little trip, it's a cool place to visit.

Robert, i think it could be really cool. the Pearl, Tx thing is still growing... [i hope!] and it has been a wonderful experience to put faces to names and share music! we've really made friends with some wonderful people that way! :)

I from Jersey and wouldn't mind jamming with fellow forumites in the surrounding area :AOK:

I think a new forum for "Local Jam Sessions" or "The Fret Jams" or similar name would be a good thing!

Give me suggestions on where to put it. Under Open Mic? I want it to be a sub-forum, so the home page doesn't get too cluttered up.

And if the sub starts getting crowded, maybe we could regionalize things so people could quickly find "Midwest Jams", "Southeast Jams", etc.
This is a great idea. We have a few "alternative" weekly papers that often list stuff like this, but they seem more dedicated to trashy ads for strip clubs, escort services, and DUI lawyers. I'd rather spend time at the "Fret".
