There is an older serie, known to me as the Beckmen imports. Pike and JimSmithSr have some nice ones. I hope they'll start a thread on them as they are gorgeous.

This serie, also with Martinesque headstock, was crafted by Yamaki and was most likely produced until 82. (I found the thread on what everyone thinks of as vintage... It's clear that for some these are older rather than vintage Washburns)

The one I have is called the D-62. It's a classic looking solid spruce/rosewood Dreadnaught with slightly rounded shoulders. Mine is a '78.

If anybody wants to post some pics of other guitars from the same serie here, please do.

I'll start a separate thread on the triangular head serie.

Good thread SPT. That 62 looks well cared for (but I wouldn't expect any less from you). I sure wish I had one of the square-head rosewoods in my stable.

As close as I can come is my '79 D60SW
Solid Ovangkol back and sides
Solid Spruce top
Maple binding
Bone nut and saddle (stock)
Ovangkol pickguard (under the lacquer)

It's had some repairs and I still need to do some neck work on it but it's still a real nice fiddle. Beautiful sound.

Look what ya did now. I took it off the wall and dusted it off, now I've got treat it to a new set of strings and play it. :)

Blaming one's gasses on someone else...Now, that's a fresh idea!
Seriously, I think it stinks.

Nice ones SPT. Mine are both Martin style pegheads, which are definitly the high end Yamaki builds and great guitars. I'm not sure about the V style pegheads, I haven't come across any info stating that they are, though I know from those that own them, they are great guitars as well.

Ah... I had forgotten about the D-66.

Thanks for showing us that W600 of yours... Always a pleasure to see it.
Do you think you could get JimSmithSr to post some of his Beckmens? And if so, would you start a thread on them...?

Sure, I'll ask him, but he started posting some pics of his collection on WGF, then took them down and disappeared.
