I've posted a pic or 2 of this guitar in a few different spots here in the past...like a thread asking to 'show your black ones' or (something like that).

Anyway, since I mentioned & showed it again in my post on my 'new' Casino, here's some closer looks at my '01 Epi Sheraton II, built for Epiphone by Samick/Korea. I scored it previously owned and seldom played, but also, fortuitously upgraded with Gibson '57 Classic pickups, that the store and I only discovered when I needed to change its bum toggle switch and a weak pot.

Just this, if you've got about 00:04:30 or so...my post will tell you what role 'Sherri' plays in the tune:

I love the look of that guitar. More classy looking than an ES-335, IMO! :AOK:

Really good looking guitar, Wingsdad! The gold plus the binding sets it off nicely.:AOK:

I also have a 2001 Sheraton in Natural finish, made by Samick. I owned an ebony but sold it because it weighed a ton. It was a Saien manufacture. I also own a 1990 Ebony ES 335 and this guitar is abolutely amazing. The Sheraton is a very close second in tone, but it is a much nicer neck feel than the ES.
My Ebony sheraton was a special edition and had a White pearl pickguard and truss rod cover. It looked really sweet with the gold and triple binding but it had to weigh 3 pounds more than the Natural.
Nice guitars and I bet she sound amazing with the 57s.

Yep, the neck's the bomb. Could be the nicest feel & player of all my guitars. And yeah, she wieghs a ton. The sustain block makes a huge difference, comparing the weight to my Casino (hollow). That Saien sounds like she was a looker, but I like the Epi Samicks. The 57's were an accident. The dealer bought the guitar from this guy who was so hungry for cash he never mentioned he'd put them in. So I bascially got the pups free. Even though I felt like I 'stole' it for what I paid (even without the 57's the price was righteous), I don't feel guilty at all, because my dealer made what he wanted to on it, and he was pretty stoked I got an A+ guitar.

You just gave me a great idea. I got a gift cert. to GC for Christmas and I was thinking of what to buy. I bet a set of 57s would sound real sweet in my Natural Sheraton. One question have you compared it to another with the regular pickups? I was wondering how the 57s sounded?

No, I'd seen them in stores, but never even picked up an Epi semi-hollow, let alone a Sheraton II, before this one, or after. So I can't make a fair comparison, other than I can't keep a humbucker Epi Les Paul or LP type by others (Ibanez, Washburn) for long (like 4-5 months at the longest) without letting go of it for something else, because they just don't sound....right....compared to this one.

Beautiful guitar Wingsdad, and to have it loaded with Gibby 57's is a bonus. I've been doing a little internet searching on this model to see if any are for sale in my immediate area... nothing at the moment. I really like the details of this guitar... bindings and inlays are beautiful. I've seen a few YouTube video's that really showcase this guitar well. One day a semi hollow body like this, or the DOT has to find it's way into my house... I can feel it :)

Cheers

Due to personal health & family issues that developed since April of this year, I'm forced to sell much of my guitar collection to cover medical bills and other debt.

This '01 Sheraton II of mine is now available. However, I've removed the Gibby 57's and re-installed the stock Epi pickups it came with from the Samick Factory it was made in. PM me if interested. Make a reasonable offer.

Thank you.
