Who better then the original artist of a song, to teach you their song? Obviously by ratings of these tapes and dvd's... any guitar teacher is better then the Artist themselves in most cases. I was going through some titles just to see who does teach their secrets and songs on VHS and DVD and found a few... I would just love to listen to Hendrix explain and teach or SRV sit down for an hour running through everything he knows... if not for the learning content then for the moment in time sharing the experience such great players have and had... Of the list I found so far JOE WALSH dvd is a must.. to listen to Him for an hour has to do something for my guitar playing.. even if it is just grinning to most likely his one liners on the dvd.. that's to be seen.. I do have a danny gaton dvd and ofcourse he don't even know the names of half the chords he plays he just plays them.. the company making that dvd inserts the proper names in case someone actually thinks they will learn from his dvd.. I enjoyed it for the experience to hear his thoughts on guitar playing and some history he had to talk about... well.. enough for now.. if you know of any other DVD or VHS for that matter to add to this list please... do so...

Just remember that a great guitarist doesn't always guarantee a great guitar teacher! Arlen Roth, right off the top of my head strikes me as one of those guys who does both of these things equally well.

Heh... that was my point R_A.. but it's still neat to see them try to explain their gifts... Actually, that Danny Gaton DVD I mention above Arlen was on it...
