My grandfather (StreetMusic's dad) was a preacher for 40+ years. His favorite song was always Amazing Grace.

Today, I turned to the next page in my lesson book, and what do I turn to? Yep, Amazing Grace. Turns out it's not very hard to play at all. I took my time and felt like a did a good job on it.

When I was finished, I had the feeling my grandfather was in the room, smiling. It was really quite a feeling.

I just felt like posting that.

Nice post Kodiak3D. :AOK: Thanks for that.
It's "Amazing" how music brings folk together (present AND past).

And (there's obviously no point in keeping secrets round here) Happy Birthday!

Strum that is a great looking cake. I had hope of being with Kodiak today but the fact that on a good day it takes 3 hours to drive there, today we had 4 inches of snow and ice on my end and better than a foot of the same on his end. It just didn't happen, so I haven't got to see him since Christmas and he has two new guitars that I want to get my hands on, well maybe soon.

Happy B-Day (belatedly)! Amazing Grace is a beautiful tune. It has been played in so many ways, and it always seems beautiful to me.
