Ok, new game. The scenario is you have no guitars and you are handed three. One you can keep, one you can play only once for two hours, and the third you cannot even touch and have to toss into a wood chipper.

The three are
Gretsch G6120 Chet Atkins 125th Anniversary

Gibson Custom Les Paul Tree of Life
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CSLPTOLLTD/

Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition George Fullerton 50th Anniversary 1957 Strat & Pro Jr.

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Strat57PJLTD/

Keep: Fender

Play: Gretsch

Chipper: Gibson

I chose Fender because I feel it's more versatile, Gretsch because I always wanted one, but not as my only guitar, and Gibson because I had to throw one in the chipper and that is what was left.

I'm not sure how the statement goes, but I have no affiliation with or promote Sweetwater blah blah blah. It's only because I'm lazy and didn't want to search multiple places.

After 4 or 5 response, feel free to add a new group of guitars or modify the existing.

And yes, this is a takeoff on Howard Sterns game (not to be noted here)

Huh, before I looked at your answers, I answered just the same for similar reasons. Strat is what I am used to and is so versatile, Gretsch I just Jones for, Paul looks nice but if I have to give one up, its the one.

And that is OK! I am a creature of habit and often like what I begin with.

But with OG, you are now not a minority. Two would keep the Paul, two would keep the Strat.

What kind of crap is this? You never throw a guitar in a wood chipper.

Oh...wait a minute...I see that a Gibson is in the mix. Yup, that one goes into the chipper.:saw:

Calm down. It's a hypothetical game question. Of course you'd never put one of these in an industrial wood chipper. It's not like they're made in Japan......:pancake:

AHA! So the Fender lobby is trying one of these "game questions" again!!!

Of course people will choose #3 when you also get a nice amp. ;)

Can I keep the amp and swap the strat for a tele?

Of course not, they make a much prettier fire if you toss them in whole.

Ahhhh, the beautiful glint of the flames off the strings as they melt &

off'a the saddles & start to driiiiip driiip drip.

I say bonfire...they *all* go in. :D

HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOTHOTHOTHOTHOTHOT!!!!

Ummm, I'll keep *this* one. I dunno which one it is :o .

Keep the Gibson, Play the Gretsch, toss the Strat and amph.

Why, you ask? I've already played Strats and know I love 'em. I've got serious GAS for a hollowbody, but I don't know if I had just one guitar if it would satisfy my playing needs.

It's been years since I've played a high caliber LP. Sure, I've played a number of Epis, but haven't allowed myself the chance to play a Gibson LP just because I'll never be able to afford one.

Plus, Gibbys hold their value really well. I could probably sell it down the road and get a LP Studio, a American Strat and an American Tele and still have enough to purchase a nice tube amph!

I'd play the Strat, toss the Gretsch and keep the Gibby.

Then following Kat's lead, I'd sell the Gibby and buy 2 custom-ordered G&L ASAT creations, or maybe one of those and a Rick 325-C64 and a good 15 to 30-watt tube amp.:crazyguy:
