It's time to put a new nut on my 90 standard. Any recomendations on which type. Graphite or bone.

Since ivory is prohibitively expensive, I'd recommend bone then Tusq next. I've used graphite as well, but I prefer the tone of bone and Tusq.

Tone of Bone? Never heard of them, but I like their name. :rotflmao:

Tusq was a great album. I love me some Fleetwood. :bravo:

Bone is great nut material (gawd that sounds trashy! :D).

If you use your tremolo a lot then go with the synthetic. Otherwise bone gets great tone. It just won't work quite as well with the strings moving over it a lot. Bone will wear faster and may hang your strings. Not all the time though. So in reality you'll be fine with either but my preference is bone unless I go with an Earvana compensated nut. Makes your guitar sound a lot better over all the registers.
