Here is another cheap great sounding fully programable drum program.

Same price as quickbeat but versatile.

have you tried Beatcraft Spudman? Is it easy to make a descent sounding drum track to jam to?

Yes I have Beatcraft. I'm not an ace with it yet but I feel it has a high degree of functionality. When the program gets developed further they will most likely update it with midi rendering. It doesn't do that now. After that I think it will be a hard to beat (pun intended) program. The price is right too. It's pretty logical to put a beat track together and there are templates for existing beats too.

I have used Hammerhead lots - pretty cool one to get a quick simple groove down. It is also completely free.
