The good folks at Line 6 are doing their best to get more of our money. They now have a stomp box modeler. I haven't checked prices yet but probably if you need to ask then you can't afford it anyway. :D So will somebody get one quick and give us a review? :poke: :munch:

Line 6 modelers? Oh yeahhh these guys rule. Look behind everyone's amp and you'll find them plugged into one of these babies.

:D

No really I'm serious. :)

if it's less than $100, I'm there! (I'm guessing it'll be somewhere in the $300 range though)

noticed this also on their website - the ultimate looper/jam machine - includes 100 prefessionally recorded jam tracks, 24mins of loop time, plus all the amp models from the POD...

Yowza.

For me at the stage that I'm at, messing with too many effects/amp models just gets in the way of learning to play. Too much time fiddling.

But I gotta say that it seems cool. Stomp boxes are easier to model than amphs. The biggest problem with Line 6 modellers is the lack of knobs (ie one has to dig down into menus to make tweaks). This pup seems not to have that problem. But jeez, if you want to run normal stompboxes & this puppy, you'd better fire the drummer to have more room for them on stage.

That looper looks particularly sweet. I like the fact that there are recorded rhythm tracks to play over.

I believe the list price is $699, which is the same as the Pod X3 Live. Therefore, I would expect the street price to be the same as well - $499.

Buying the Bad Monkey pedal was the best $20 I've ever spent. :dude:

So think about it...this pedal board that I've used for the last 15 plus years is valued much higher than the modeler and can't do everything the model can.

Conservative used price estimates.
TS9 modded $120
FL9 $ 80
Tuner $ 30
535 wah $ 80
DS1 modded $ 75
Rotovibe $100
Loop selector $ 75
DD5 $ 90

Total: $650 and I don't come close to the flexibility of a modeler. Now price each of the above pedals NEW and see what that comes up to. Seems like the modeler is a pretty good bargain.

One of the best deals right now is for the Gearbox plugins at only $99. Using your supported Line 6 hardware as a "dongle" of sorts you can run multiple instances and reamp. For those of you that are heavily into recording, nothing in the world is better than having the ability to reamp. You can completely change the effects and amp(s) used without having to rerecord you inspiration. This is well worth it and I was waiting for a price drop for some time now. My PodXT is almost 5 years old now and I still receive updates for it and addons that keep it an indispensable item for me. Line 6 rocks in my book.

Reading a little more closely I see that this puppy basically packages all of Line 6's other stompbox modellers into one unit.

--------------------------------------------------------
What do the colored lights on each footswitch mean? (http://www.thefret.net/)
Each color references a specific type of effect: green is for Delays, blue is for Modulations, purple is for Filters, yellow is for Distortions and orange is for Reverbs. The colors are based on individual Line 6 stompbox modelers.

Does Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler include models from the DL4? (http://www.thefret.net/)
Yes, it includes all of the delay models from DL4 plus a killer delay called Echo Platter from Echo Pro™. It also includes all the models from DM4™, FM4™, MM4™ and Verbzilla®. The full list of models can be found here (http://line6.com/stompboxmodelers/sounds.html).

The orange is supposed to be the

But that thing is blue. Blue was already taken so I guess they went with orange.
