I came across this gem. I've seen lots of GE variants, but this 12AX7 is new to me. It has seams on top and is marked "GT. BRITAIN".
Is this a Mullard for GE? Whatever it is...it sounds pretty darn good.

Take a look at this site:

towards the bottom.

Is there a Mullard date code on the tube?

I have a few Eico tubes made by Mullard that have the same plate structure as your GE.

It was common for tube manufacturers to buy other manufacturers' tubes and relable them as their own.

Yep. I missed it first time around. It's 163, B6H2

Was included in a small lot of tubes I snatched on Ebay. Check out what was included for $123.00

RCA JAN 5751 NOS WITH BOX BLACK PLATES, DATE CODE 11/70,
NOS RCA 5751 TRIPLE MICA D GETTER BLACK PLATES,
AMPEREX 12AX7A EC83 MADE IN HOLLAND NOS,
NOS 12AT7 WA TRIPLE MICA D GETTER BY SYLVANIA DATE CODE 3-70,
2 GE 5751,
GE 12AX7 7025

Man, it was fun when I opened that package and started to plug 'n play.

Gosh, not one tube has shown any sign of microphonic trouble or other failure. I've bought quite a few NOS tubes on Ebay lately and have received some really nice stuff. I've been looking mainly for RCA 12AX7A, varieties of 5751, and the GE 12AX7WA. They seem to sound the best in my amp, are easy to find and are not outrageously priced. I've got a pretty good stash now to keep me going:D
