Hi folks,
Can anyone recommend a good amp for blues\light rock? Im looking for something along the lines of Eric Clapton\Mark Knopfler tone. I dont need something that will blow a house down (need to consider the neighbours!) but something with a decent punch under the hood when required and has a headphone jack along with good fx loop. Budget is about 1200 euro (roughly 1800 USD).

(PS- I dont use Irish guitar/music forums as the people here are much nicer.)

Man, with a budget around $1800, you can get a mighty fine amp! That puts you in the "boo teek" range.

Be sure to check out the VIDEO demos on the Rivera site.
These are not super hi-gain amps, so they may be a great fit (not sure about the headphone out on individual amps though)

You can get a 18 watt handwired Heatseeker (http://www.mackamps.com/products_Amp_hs_18.asp)for around a grand (not sure how much fx loop is) but there's no headphone out on it. Sounds sweet - my website has several video demos of it.

I always recommend the Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb for good clean tones. It sounds fantastic.
